Experience
-Last year, I worked in a 4th grade classroom in East Harlem through an AmeriCorps program called "City Year New York," providing one-on-one and small group tutoring support in English, math, and social skills. -I want to be a tutor because the best part of my job last year was watching my students grow and become independent scholars, and this seems like a rewarding way to make some extra cash. Although last year I worked with elementary students, I feel comfortable working with all students K-8. Regarding high schoolers, I feel confident helping with subjects regarding writing, reading, literature, U.S & Modern European history, and essay writing (for school, college application, and for the SAT.) - During my high school career, I chose to take the most challenging course load, complete with APs and Honors classes.
